11/20/2020 - Very low energy this week. Overall, I found very little motivation to try and sit down and write something worth sharing. It didn’t help that I bought a copy of the new Call of Duty to kill time with, but on top of that, I found it difficult to sit down and focus on anything. There will be no Medium post next week since I’m currently working on a couple of “big” posts. I’m planning on releasing these posts in connection to last week’s post as a series. On top of that, I’m currently reading @Meta-Nomad’s new book (which will be linked below), which I plan to write and release a review for in a future Medium post.
I don’t have much to address in this top section this week except that growth for the Substack seems to have plateaued roughly four days after last week’s release. I expected this, usually you see rapid growth right away upon releasing something new, and those who stick around after the initial release are those who actually found the content worthwhile.
In any event, if you find yourself enjoying anything in this Newsletter consider sending the link to a friend, family member, or even a coworker. Seeing the Newsletter grow really does motivate me to keep doing this, as long as I see there is some sort of audience I’ll keep putting out content. As always, if you have any recommendations or just want to keep up with what I have to say on a much more frequent basis, consider following me on Twitter @CNoumena.
Anyway hope you have a good turkey day or whatever it is that you do with the extra “holiday time”. There will still be a Newsletter released next week, but as mentioned above there will be no Medium Post.

Acid-Communism: The Struggle for Free Time
“Acid Communism is (shared) free time and nothing else.” -Xenogothic
If I were to boil down what I think “true” communism or “Left accelerationism” is, It would just be the production of “free-time” or as stated by Xenogothic the production of “shared free time”. Georges Bataille’s, Accursed Share is the non-recuperable part of any economy. It is that which is destined to waste. In this sense, the struggle for free time or leisure is the pursuit of expenditure. (continue reading)
Ever wondered what it would be like to have an explosive power bat? I didn’t either until I saw this video. Stuff Made Here is a great channel that takes impractical often ridiculous engineering ideas and makes them happen. In this video, they test out how far a baseball can travel if you add explosives into the mix.
If you happened to watch Netflix’s new original series, The Queens Gambit, you might be interested to find out that there is a great youtube video breaking down the plays made in the big climactic match at the end of the show. Turns out it’s based on a real game!
As mentioned, I’m currently reading Meta-Nomad’s new book “A Methodology of Possession: On The Philosophy of Nick Land " The book is a theory-fiction work particularly focusing on a materialist understanding of methodology as a process of Philosophy itself. I can’t say much more than that since I’m not too far into it, but a full review is coming out soon.
Here is a great video essay about one of my favorite anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion. I recently watched this with my girlfriend who just happened to have been in the room when I was watching this and even she was slightly interested in some of the background. The in-depth analysis of the show does go into some spoilers but ultimately it may just be the video you need to motivate you to see such an iconic show. Evangelion is also currently available to stream on Netflix so right now is a perfect time to watch it.
Have you ever heard of the luxurious Giorgio Peviani Jean brand? If not then you have to watch this video.
Song of the week: One of my favorite songs since I heard it. I made the comment once that if I had an anime opening this would be the opening theme.
