<Technolalia> focuses on Philosophy, Culture, and Tech and how those three categories interact. The content stems from original pieces to curated links and the occasional podcast.

Religious symbolism, theological thinking, and spirituality aren’t making a comeback in a naive or even a reactionary way. They are being used to combat the current hegemony, the legacy of the enlightenment. Philosophy always attacks the presuppositions of its time.

I try to not delete things, mostly because of my obsession with time. I find that deleting things is like tampering with entropy. Historically this has always come at a great cost. This is why there’s a debt collected when telling lies. Telling the truth can be difficult because it brings to light. It’s that dizzying maddening feeling like leaving Plato’s cave. But ultimately truth is in accordance with the flow of time. Lying is always negentropic, it’s committing adultery with reality.

“The goal of religious thinking is exactly the same as that of technological research -- namely, practical action. Whenever man is truly concerned with obtaining concrete results, whenever he is hard pressed by reality, he abandons abstract speculation and reverts to a mode of response that becomes increasingly cautious and conservative as the forces he hopes to subdue, or at least to outrun, draw ever nearer.”
— René Girard, Violence and the Sacred
